Geneviève was born in Johannesburg to Belgian parents. Both her
parents were artists but her father didn’t have the confidence to
pursue his talent.
Her mother, Pauline Holmer who was a well known artist in
Amanzimtoti in the 70’s studied art at the Royal Academy of Fine
Arts in Antwerp, Belgium.
Geneviève showed a keen interest in art later in life. In 2011,
three years after Genevieve’s mother passed away (in 2008), she met
an art teacher in one of Pietermaritzburg high schools who took her
briefly under her wing and brought out her potential.
Geneviève has a great passion for all animals
and took to painting South African Wildlife and birds in oils on
slasto and canvas.
Like many artists, she loves South
African scenery and waterfalls and reflects this in her works.
Geneviève undertakes commissions on clients request from photographs
provided by clients.
Each artwork is identified by a serial number and comes with a
certificate of ownership/authenticity.
Most of her works are done in oils, although she does use other
mediums as well.
